BUT, there are some great restaurants in Saigon that really do deserve a visit &#8211; and <em>Banh khot Co Ba Vung Tau<\/em> is definitely one to consider&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2073\" src=\"https:\/\/gogogovietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/banh-xeo-saigon-eating.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"1333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gogogovietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/banh-xeo-saigon-eating.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/gogogovietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/banh-xeo-saigon-eating-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/gogogovietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/banh-xeo-saigon-eating-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/gogogovietnam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/banh-xeo-saigon-eating-770x1026.jpg 770w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/>It has some great food options on the menu, but if you&#8217;re really looking for something local and even traditional, try their Vung Tau versions of <em>banh xeo<\/em> (crispy, savory pancakes) or <em>banh khot<\/em> (small pancakes topped with shrimp).<\/p>\n<p>The <em>banh xeo<\/em> are huge in size, and, if you fancy it, ensure your banh xeo comes with the rather delicious <em>coconut peaks<\/em> (called as such on their menu, but they mean the tender, fresh core of the coconut tree, which can even be eaten raw, or partly cooked to become a much loved part of their <em>banh xeo<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant has a huge menu book, and many of the items look great, and targeted very much for tourists and newbies to Vietnamese food. But I think many of the items are a bit hit and miss &#8211; I&#8217;d definitely recommend the pancakes, both <em>banh xeo<\/em> and <em>banh khot<\/em>, as these are their signature dishes. But would you really come here for a <em>pho<\/em> or noodle dish&#8230;not so sure I would&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Price-wise,\u00a0<strong>Banh khot Co Ba Vung Tau\u00a0<\/strong>is not the cheapest around, and for a banh xeo you\u2019ll be paying upwards of 130,000 VND. BUT is it huge, don\u2019t forget, and if it\u2019s just you and an additional diner, one\u00a0<em>banh xeo<\/em>\u00a0and some\u00a0<em>banh khot<\/em>\u00a0is more than enough.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Banh khot Co Ba Vung Tau<\/strong> can be found in Saigon&#8217;s district 1, just off Turtle Lake.
